Haryana school education directorate announced to reopen schools

Haryana school education directorate on Friday announced to reopen government and personal schools for college kids of Classes 9 to 12 from July 16 with the written permission of oldsters allowing their wards to physically attend classes. While the classes of secondary school students – Class 6 to eight - will start from July 23.

The decision regarding reopening of primary schools are going to be taken later, consistent with an order of the Department of Education . Consent of oldsters are going to be mandatory for college kids to attend school.

However, the choice of online mode of studies will continue for college kids unwilling to attend the varsity and therefore the attendance won't be enforced.

Schools in Haryana were closed mid-March last year within the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak. Haryana had reopened schools for college kids of Classes 9-12 in October-November last year, but had to shut them down after students began testing positive for Covid.

A government spokesperson said it'll not be mandatory for college kids to return to high school as online classes will continue within the same pattern.

Social distancing and other rules are going to be applicable for college kids coming to colleges .

The director of secondary and education department on July 12 will conduct online video conferencing to resolve doubts of teachers regarding an equivalent orders.

“No decision has been taken yet to open schools for college kids of classes 1 to five”, the spokesperson said.
